Ingredients:
- 1 box red velvet cake mix
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 1/2 cup red heart-shaped sprinkles
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350F 175C and line a cupcake pan with paper liners
In a large mixing bowl, combine the red velvet cake mix, all-purpose flour, and granulated sugar
Add the softened unsalted butter and mix until the mixture becomes crumbly
In a separate bowl, whisk together the sour cream, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until the batter is smooth and well incorporated
Slowly add the buttermilk and mix until the batter is creamy and smooth
Gently fold in the red heart-shaped sprinkles to add a Valentine's touch to the cupcakes
Fill each cupcake liner about 2/3 full with the batter
Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a cupcake comes out clean
Remove the cupcakes from the oven and let them cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely
Once cooled, you can optionally frost the cupcakes with cream cheese frosting and decorate them with more red heart-shaped sprinkles
Enjoy your Red Velvet Cake Batter Cupcakes, perfect for Valentine's Day!
